Oded Kogut delivered a strong performance on stage 3 of the Tour de Pologne to sprint to fourth place to equal his best WorldTour stage race result, following fourth place on the final day of Tirreno Adriatico this year.
The peloton caught the breakaway of the day inside the final 10 kilometers to set the stage for the third consecutive bunch sprint in three days, with Jonathan Milan (Lidl – Trek) making it three from three.
Kogut and teammate Brady Gilmore were well positioned inside the final 300 meters and after launching his sprint, Kogut’s legs delivered him to fourth place, narrowly missed the podium in Zielona Góra.
For Kogut, today’s fourth place is a good sign ahead of the rest of the season.
“It’s a positive result and I’m happy,” explains Kogut. “I am super happy with the team we have here and the atmosphere we have. Everyone did a great job supporting me in the last three days.
“Unfortunately, I really struggled the first two days and things didn’t really click for me. Today it was a lot better and we had a good position to sprint from.
“In the end it was fourth place so I can be positive, knowing know that I am back to where I was before my injury. So I’m positive and confident ahead of the rest of the season!”
